Children observe colorful artwork displayed on easels in an art classroom. Our school gymnasium was transformed into a vibrant gallery last Thursday night for our annual Spring Art Expo. The event showcased the incredible range of talent within our student body, featuring everything from intricate charcoal sketches and 3D-printed sculptures to large-scale acrylic paintings. Hundreds of parents, students, and community members walked the "gallery floor," celebrating the hard work our young artists have put in throughout the winter semester.

The centerpiece of the evening was a collaborative mural titled Unity in Motion, created by the 8th-grade advanced art elective. "We wanted to show how different styles can come together to make something cohesive," explained student artist Leo Vance. "Seeing it finally displayed under the professional lights made all those hours of painting worth it." The diversity of the pieces was truly staggering, with a special section dedicated to digital photography that captured "A Day in the Life" of a middle schooler, offering a poignant and often humorous look at our campus culture.

Art Department Chair, Ms. Aristhone, noted that this year’s theme, Perspectives, pushed students to step outside their comfort zones. "I challenged them to use color theory to evoke specific emotions rather than just literal interpretations," she said. Important Reminder: If you missed the live event, a digital catalog of the award-winning pieces is now available on the school’s "Arts & Electives" webpage. We also want to thank the PTA for providing the refreshments that made the evening feel like a true professional opening. Congratulations to all our featured artists!
