Creating Accessible Content

laptop computer on a desk with a vase of flowers and a basketWhen working on your website, it’s important to keep accessibility in mind. Here are a few helpful reminders:

  • Headings must follow a logical order.
  • Format lists with the bullet or number tool.
  • Links should be descriptive and behave predictably.
  • Provide meaningful alternative text for images.
  • Minimize use of colors, and ensure high contrast.
  • Videos need captioning or a transcript.
  • Tables are only for data and need a defined header row.
  • Documents must follow all of the above and not be scanned.
